A common term for age-related wear and tear that damages the spinal discs in your neck is cervical spondylosis. Signs of osteoarthritis, including bony extensions around the sides of bones, grow as the discs dehydrate and shrink (bone spurs). Spondylosis of the cervix is very normal and worsens with age.
